Forest Traffic - on the Street of Dreams

"Forest Traffic!" Digital Art by Pulkit Kudiwal

High on a limb the white owl watches
the forest signals of impending change
cautiously, crossing lines of time

who can stop the oncoming traffic
mama taught me to look both ways
even when traversing a mystical path

courageous lion and mongoose stand guard
who will walk the the street of dreams
once four Beatles crossed Abbey Lane

sometimes, you have to let it be
in quiet darkness, I think of you
blue world, spins counter clockwise

I hear the songs of nature's creatures
in a forest bed, drifting into a slumber
under a thousand stars, a willow weeps

will we ever find our way
I will be waiting for that day

    1. Well, some say we spin clockwise and some counterclockwise depends on perspective. Happy Sunday!

  9. How so nostalgic to be walking with the Beatles. They ran our lives at their heyday. Who can forget all those years. Thanks for the memories, True!
PS Your word craft is perfect!

  10. Will we ever find our way? I do hope so. Your owl reminds me that people are hearing an owl in the early morning across the street in the park. I hope he isnt calling my name, lol. I love your poem, especially the weeping willow.

    1. I hope so too but, it may take time and time seems to be so precious these days,

I think that owl is just being chatty... lol.,.

  11. I am really glad that you related to the corner at Abbey Lane. I don't know why I did not, our daughter who worked in London and our baby granddaughter and her husband lived five years on the block that borders on the Southwest corner of that intersection.
There is a Webcam at that corner,

Also, I did not know about the mongoose animal. I'm wondering if you have seen one? We have been where they live, S. Africa and India, but did not know to look for them. Mrs. Jim and I once had a matching pair of Mongoose bicycles that we purchased at the Academy sporting goods store.

    1. Hi,

I have never been to the U.K but it would be fun to walk across that famous spot on Abbey Lane.

I once read a mongoose can be aggressive with lions. Territory squabbles. I thought the animals in the photo were protecting their territory from two legged humans. I have never seen one in real life.

  12. Very accomplished. Thank you.
(I saw the same connection. I've always wondered if the "Beetle" parked in Abbey Road behind the Beatles was a deliberate plant.)

    1. Interesting thought, there has been a lot of speculation regarding symbolism in that famous album cover.

  15. Yes, the question is....will we ever fine our way? I was hopeful for a while but lately I have backslid with hope. I try to 'let it be' and turn off the news, but sometimes it isn't possible. Hope you are doing fine, Truedessa. At least spring is in the air.
