Infinity

Ismael Nery - Infinity

How long must I chase the light
traveling space, time and the rhythms
of life…to ease this darkness of night

you’re always hovering in my dreams
is time something that never ends
just a kaleidoscope of changing scenes

seeds of poetry grow deep inside of me
branching outward to touch your heart
I learned long ago love has no guarantee

how long must I chase the light
traveling space, time and the rhythms
of life…to ease this darkness of night

searching the infinite heavens for a star
one that can be trusted with sacred wishes
do life’s song end at the end of the bar

opening again in some spiritual musicality
vibrating into eternity pieces of what was
entering into the black hole of duality

dVerse Open Link Night #390
hosted by Grace - she gave us an
alternative prompt using the artwork
offered.

Thanks for visiting - my thoughts are fragmented - hope this makes sense

  1. "How long must I chase the light...." This question resonates. Grief lasts long, when one loses a love so big. A doctor once told me the depth of my grief reflects the depth of the love. That helped.

  3. Nice use of repetition in your infinity poem, Truedessa, and a pertinent question. I love the phrase ‘just a kaleidoscope of changing scenes’ and these lines:
‘seeds of poetry grow deep inside of me
branching outward to touch your heart’.

  7. I love the refrain of How long must I chase the light. I hope that from darkness of night, we can find that spiritual musicality. May we all find that star!

  8. You raise questions that intrigue many of us. The not knowing keeps us asking questions! Well done.
