| wikipedia - four leaf clover |
Dreaming in fields of green clover
the sky a luminous blue all over
hidden within a treasured four leaf
faith, hope, love and luck leaves of belief
melodic bagpipes play a soulful song
a magical place where legends belong
twinkling of emerald isles bring relief
faith, hope and love and luck leaves of belief
spring plays its windswept tunes
daffodils and primroses in bloom
shamrock or clover a wondrous motif
faith, hope and love and luck leaves of belief
dreaming in fields of green clover
faith, hope, love and luck leaves of belief

ReplyDeleteI especially like:
"Dreaming in fields of green clover
the sky a luminous blue all over"
and
"spring plays its windswept tunes
daffodils and primroses in bloom"
What perfect imagery for the day, Truedessa. I've had the song, "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover" in my mind all day. Your poem remind me of it again.
Hi Jennifer - I do wish spring would hurry so the spring flowers can bloom. The red-winged blackbirds and robins are back. I am happy to listen to their songs.
DeleteI like how you use repetition to teach about the meaning of the 4 leaves. With these 4 who will be led astray.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa - I tried to make a sonnet out of it with rhymes. Thanks for hosting.
DeleteNice rhyming, luv the repeats,too.
ReplyDeleteMuch love
Hi Gillena, I do love a bit of rhyming. Thanks for reading
DeleteGreat piece love the rhythmic style 💚
ReplyDeleteThanks Ange!
DeleteI like the use of repetition in your poem, Truedessa. I used to love searching for four leaf clovers when I was a child, and I found a fair few – just not much luck!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, A lot of clover grows around here and on occasion I will find one or someone else will and gift it to me. I keep them in my dream journals.
DeleteI hear the bagpipes calling, True ... Loud and clear. Thanks for gifting us your poem.
ReplyDeleteSmiling here Helen - glad you could hear the soulful sound of the bagpipes. Thank you for visiting.
DeleteI love the repeated line and those leaves of belief. Smiles. Beautiful, True.
ReplyDeleteThose leaves of belief give one hope.
DeleteVery nice! I wonder how often a four leaf clover occurs? Or rather how often do people find them.
ReplyDeleteHi Alex, they are rare to find but, I have a good eye and if I look around a bit I usually find one. I met a lady on my walk and she found two in a row and gave me one on a day I really needed a bit of joy. She said "bless you - walk in peace"
DeleteLove the "...luck leaves of belief" anaphora, very much. Nice write.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Christopher for visiting.
DeleteWonderful poem, Truedessa!
