Song of the Bluebird

Courtesy of pixabay

Today, I awoke to the song of the bluebird
slipping out of a dream, welcoming light
something deep inside of me begins to stir
gone are the visions of the dark crow night

slipping out of a dream, welcoming light
your melody soars, across the morning sky
gone are the visions of the dark crow night
my heart is heavy, leave me be, I softly cry

your melody soars, across the morning sky
fluttering wings, last days of summer fading
my heart is heavy, leave me be, I softly cry
holding onto a dream, is it time I'm wasting

fluttering wings, last days of summer fading
autumn will touch-down in color-burst hues
holding onto a dream, is it time I'm wasting
this morning, I'm feeling a melancholy blue

autumn will touch-down in color-burst hues
season bustling with mysterious changes
this morning, I'm feeling a melancholy blue
in life,  I have traveled roads of strangeness

season bustling with mysterious changes
something deep inside of me, begins to stir
in life, I have traveled roads of strangeness
today, I awoke to the song of the bluebird

author's note: This morning as, I opened
my bedroom window, I saw a beautiful
bluejay sitting in the tree outside, singing
loudly his song.  A Pantoum was born.

Thank you for visiting.
