Butterfly Flurry

In a dream,
I met a gatekeeper
with lustrous copper hair
all was not as it seems
in a crimson patch of flowers
wearing large tortoiseshell glasses
beckoning me into a flurry of butterflies
in my sleep during the mystical hours
surrounded by beautiful fluttering wings
a wandering skipper gifted me a red velvet rose
careful of thorns,  I inhaled its sweetest scent
the night I heard a flurry of  butterflies sing

So, for today, I’ve composed a list of common butterfly names taken from several online sites. People seem to enjoy these list prompts. Choose at least three of the names from the list below and include them in your poem.

Author's note:  Today, I was in a pool of cool blue and a Eastern Tiger Swallowtail landed on my foot. Then I saw the prompt today.  A bit of Synchronicity.

Butterfly Song

"Migration"  Painting by Eddie Schrieffer

My wings ripped
in this world of isolation
do you understand the gravity of the situation

watching the butterflies dance

my mind is full of wanderlust
in this galaxy of interstellar travel
weightless, my thoughts migrate

dancing to the butterflies song

my heart is full, emerging with desire
dreaming of that one transforming touch
that will break me free from my cocoon

give me more than the same old song & dance

show me your eyes, the reflections of your soul
and I will give you pieces of my truest self
together we will focus on mending our wings

give me a new reason to sing the songs of life

Beautiful Transformation

Truedessa's Collection

In a warm  sanctuary flutters life
life, a continuous circle of change
change, like the seasons we all do
do, you feel safe wrapped in a cocoon
cocoon, silken covering of protection
protection, so we might heal and grow
grow, so we might sprout strong wings
wings, to carry our dreams skyward
skyward, we look for new possibility
possibility, brings forth transformation
transformation, consciousness emerging
emerging, a unique creature in the journey
journey, evolving in the center of the heart
heart, filled with hope, joy and love
love, the key to a changing world!

My Eyes Flutter Behind Closed Lids

Mag 255

closing my eyes
so that I might see
the full span of my  journey
revealing only a part of myself
in the shadow lands, longing to be free
my dreams, wrapped in a cocoon of darkness
waiting for spring sunlight  to bring forth new life

closing my eyes
so that I might see
wings flutter in anticipation
whispering secrets to the butterfly
carrying wishes of the soul to the sky
my dreams slowly awaken, transformation
bursting free from within, seeking the nectar of life

opening my eyes,  to new possibilities
