A mother's love
eternal
behold the intensity in
her eyes
tender thoughts
for her child
feel the depths of her expression
a heavenly gift
light to the world
heartfelt devotion
the joy of a child
filled with love
a message of hope
for future generations!

ReplyDeleteHi Claudia,
DeleteThanks so much! It is my heartfelt wish that all children feel hope, joy and love in their lives.
You've expressed the unconditional love of mother for child beautifully - and then opened it up to show the unconditional love of the Child for the world. I really like this, although Mary plays only a small part in my own Christian tradition.

DeleteA special poem. I've often thought about how I could capture birth and holding a new baby in a poem. I just can't seem to come up with the words. It's such an ineffable experience. It changes everything.
