Twin Within
It is said we all have a twin
my spirit twin
lives within
one twin lives in
the human world
tethered to the ground
wakes up with
the sunrise
groggily hits snooze as the alarm sounds
just to catch a
few more minutes
before viewing the
morning news
fights the
traffic, morning commute
clawing through
the daily strife
confined to the
working grind
9 to 5 trying to get it right
the other twin, lives
in a spiritual world
free to fly the
heavens
restless, like the
wind
her soul arises in moonlight
searching for the
meaning of life
flying on the
wings of a red tailed hawk
taking in the
peripheral view
spirit guide leads
her to the valley
her soul mate
waits on the river's edge
dark features,
piercing eyes
calling her name,
she sighs
two joined as one
soaring in
paradise
A very interesting dichotomy here and one that readers can relate to - you pick out salient details to make it all quite vivid. Thanks so much. K.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the prompt and your comment is appreciated.
DeleteWonderful ... and like minds in terms of a twin within... but I like your internal twin a lot better. :-)
ReplyDeleteGood Morning,
DeleteThanks for the comments and we did have the same internal twin theme going on for this prompt.
I can relate very well ~ Like the contrast between the stanzas ~ We all have to work between those two worlds ~
ReplyDeleteGrace,
DeleteThank you for the read and the reply. I agree it is hard to find balance between the two worlds.
rather like the end...finding one another by the river...and depending on how you look at it, it could be the physical self and spiritual self now learning how to live together....
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Brian,
DeleteThanks for dropping in for a visit. I always enjoy reading your comments.
Hope your weekend is going well..
Stuck at the 9 to 5
ReplyDeleteNever gonna get out alive
Need to rob that bank
Give your inner twin a yank
She'll float in and float out
Then the heist no one will know about
We can take the money and run
Whalla, Bora Bora under the sun haha
hmmm..let me understand
Deleteyou now have a new plan
to get us to the sands
of bora bora beach
where we can work on
our tans..and share
some exotic drinks..
as we catch 40 winks
my twin says this is
a no go..need to come
up with an honest plan
for the dough...
then away we can go
run under the sun
until the day is done.. (hahaha)
thanks for the smile..you are too funny
haha your twin is just no fun
DeleteHonest will never get us to such a sun
yes - i think that's true - there are both and they need each other and we need both of them as well to be able to connect the dimensions..
ReplyDeleteGood Morning,
DeleteThank you for the comment and I agree we do need "both" to be connective.
I like this, really like this. My other twin lives in a dream world rather than a spirit world. Her imagination runs wild and I happily join her there...
ReplyDeleteAnna :o]
Hello,
DeleteI like what you said about the dream world. I was actually going to say "Dream" world first but, then changed to "spiritual" world. I think we first must, enter the dream world as that is where our spirit can take flight. I agree I will always join my twin in the dream world for here holds the keys to the human world. Thank you so much for a lovely comment.
Divided yet entwined finally together. Very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAkila,
DeleteThank you for taking the time to visit and the lovely comment. It is always nice to see you here and to visit you there. Have a good day!
One foot in the spiritual realm, one foot in the world of the flesh...creative to refer to it as twins...nice work!
ReplyDeleteHello,
DeleteThank you for reading my work and taking the time to leave a comment. It is appreciated. How a wonderful Tuesday!
