Magic Hour by Judith Clay
Under
the big top in the realm of dreams
my mind takes flight all is not as it seems
Rooster
crows, entranced my head spins
the
land of nod, magical hour slowly begins
Magician
with hair dark as night
face
resembling the moon, oh what a sight
Sitting
high upon a diamond back giraffe
my
spirit soars & I give a good laugh
enchanted hour
stories to behold
Stretching
my imagination, new direction
tall
felt black hat,
tap tap, tap tap
heavenly
reflection
reaching for those stars that seemed out of reach
abracadabra
hocus pocus
finding
my dreams on a white sandy beach
while
the giraffe sings me a song
&
the magician plays along

ReplyDeleteClaudia,
DeleteSo agree, always stretching for those stars..
ha. this is fun...everything is possible under the big top, or in a magic act...and you never know where to look next....listening for the giraffe to sing...smiles.
ReplyDeleteBrian,
DeleteThanks as always for the visit..the magic of the big top who knows what will happen..
Wonder of a singing giraffe... from that big top ... great play.
ReplyDeleteHi Bjorn,
DeleteThanks, I do adore giraffes and singing ones are magical..
Oh, I love the magic in this AND the rhyme. This was fun to read, Truedessa!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary,
DeleteI had fun with this one..
What a lovely magical hour with the giraffe singing and magicians playing along ~
ReplyDeleteGrace,
DeleteIn the magical hour all things are possible..all you need do is believe.
That is so dream-like. Wonderful journey of imagination. I loved it.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the visit so glad you enjoyed the journey.
DeleteNice job with the rhyme
ReplyDeleteSure a fun time
Wish some hocus pocus
We could focus
The poof we could be
At the beach by the sea
with some hocus pocus
Delete& abracadabra...poof
we're gone to that island
by the sea, drinking our tea
Sounds good to me
DeleteWhat is the spell to bring about such glee?
I wish I knew the spell
Deletethen all would be swell..
I'm finding these paintings to elicit abstract and humorous poems. You use of rhyme add that certain something to bind it together. Nicely done, Truedessa.
ReplyDeleteHello Joseph,

ReplyDeleteThank you Susie...
DeleteWhimsical and fun.... Giraffe's are such amazing creatures - wish they were as gentle and sweet as your poem makes them out to be :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I agree they are amazing.
DeleteVery clever and lots of fun - these pix gave us a lot to write to, didn't they? This one was especially well crafted. Kudos.
