Japanese tea house
sanctuary for the soul
translating warm leaves
splashes of a summer day
sipping exotic moments

walking winding cliffs
dragonflies resting, green leaves
enlightenment found
bird-songs, mystical waters
breathtaking visions

DeleteEmeralds stretch and reach
ReplyDeleteBelow red and gold above
Born of silent sands and stone
Of the olive branch and the dove
A sweet taste
Sometimes sour or thick
A harmonious hum rises to the sky
In a home of stone and stick
That's very beautiful, thanks for sharing..
DeleteDon't often do poems, but wanted to play with the imagery you gave me. :)
DeleteRobert,

ReplyDeleteSarah,
DeleteGlad I could give you a bit of peace.
I haven't been in a tea house, but if I were to go, I'd def. appreciate a Japanese Tea House the most. The writing is lovely, and so is the pic. RI is a state we hope to visit next summer.
ReplyDeleteIf you go be sure to visit Newport and Providence. The harbor is beautiful with all the sailboats.
DeleteThis reminds me of how years ago on one of my visits to Japan, I was taught the Tea Ceremony. Very peaceful and lovely, esp. the wabi sabi aspect of it. I love the dragonflies resting on the water..
ReplyDeleteToni, I am sure that must have been an amazing experience for you. Thank you for the visit.
DeleteI love the serenity in this piece.
ReplyDeleteMay a piece of serenity stay with you always!
