Rockin' View - A Breakthrough

My Creation

Walking along broken cliff ledges
pondering each step jagged edges
remembering the people of the stones
waves breaking below,  the ocean moans

comparing the words stone and rock
contemplating the intriguing paradox
wisdom echoes in the cove of my mind
stones have spirits, look and you will find

I recall a heart shaped stone, with a face
smiling at me, in cupped hands, I embraced
stones have spirits, mystics can sense them
hidden in time, unearthing one a rare gem

Peering  over the cliff,  stones softly sing to me
gathering them one by one, discovering the key
tuning into their  vibration, I choose carefully
vision forms, ancient relics, seeing with clarity

Nestled in hues of marbled gray, on solid rock
primitive spirit  arises, gateway is unlocked
gazing in amazement,  at my wondrous creation
listening to a melody,  I find inspiration

  1. New tunes to inspire can lift one higher. And if you start hearing the stones sing real tunes, they make pills for that lol

  10. I love this. Many years ago I wrote a poem called Spirit in the Stone,....you would probably like it. Love the idea of a stone with a heart shaped face in cupped hands.....for a few years in the 90's, I found heart-shaped rocks everywhere.

    1. I have never seen the Grand Canyon, hopefully one day I will make it there. I have been a witness to the miracles of other stones. On this particular day the "rocky" cliffs spoke to me as I gathered 5 stones, stacking them just right to form a face in time.

  16. Aaah...There's nothing inanimate in this universe. 'He' has manifested Himself in every single atom. This is the idea of Vedanta. Reading this poem this idea struck me once again. So beautifully penned & love the photo.

    1. Hi Hilary,

So true, splitting stones reveals life form from another era. It gives us knowledge and perhaps a few secrets from the past.

  24. Oh, Truedessa ~ I loved this! Rocks speak to me, maybe differently from how they speak to you. I hold them in my hands, and they whisper the Earth's secrets to me. I scan them in the landscape, and they sing out the Earth's passions to me. I see the sweep of time and history. And when I see the traces of life within them, I can feel that life. So, it doesn't surprise me to learn that you sense their spirits!

    1. Hi Fundy, I enjoyed your comment all things have energy, so of course we can feel certain vibrations. They do indeed hold secrets to the past and the voice of Mother Earth can be heard if we truly listen!
