Signature of my Soul

source unknown

I pen words, creating my life story
leaving imprints, signature of my soul
verses in a field of morning glories
inscribing messages on birch skin scrolls

leaving imprints, signature of my soul
singing songs of the weeping willow
inscribing messages on birch skin scrolls
tucking intentions under my pillow

singing songs of the weeping willow
embracing light of a higher presence
tucking intentions under my pillow
lacing stars around the neck of heaven

embracing light of a higher presence
believing in mystic dragons; unseen
lacing stars around the neck of heaven
honoring creator for gifting dreams

believing in mystic dragons; unseen
following the beat of my inner drum
lacing stars around the neck of heaven
honoring creator for gifting dreams

following the beat of my inner drum
verses in a field of morning glories
honoring creator for gifting dreams
I pen words, creating my life story

author's note:  Form used Pantoum
the inspiration for this poem came
from an unexpected oracle.

  1. And keep on penning away, as step by step life comes your way. A neat form indeed too, like the repetition of it.

  3. "tucking intentions under my pillow"

I imagine a little piece of paper on which are scribbled the words: "Joy and peace through the night."

I might try something like this, except that I toss and turn so much that the little piece of paper would probably soon be ground to dust!

  14. Indeed, I think the collection of all the words one writes IS one's life story...whether one intends it to be or not! I enjoyed your perspective here, Truedessa.
