The cardinal is magic in its color, no similar bird in the old world I think.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sublime poem..lovely
ReplyDeleteThis stopped me in my tracks, like a perfect ruby in a museum display case, Truedessa. You've captured the heart and beauty of a winter's night. If I were still teaching, I would have hung this on my classroom wall and had my students read it, discuss it, illustrate their own copies, and then challenge them to write poems in a similar form on whatever topic spoke to them (with your permission, of course!). It would be a wonderful jumping off point all across the curriculum. We would have flown and had so much fun with this lovely winter poem.
ReplyDeletePure beauty! I love the wee bird's hopeful winter song.
ReplyDeleteAnd they do show up so brightly against the snow!
ReplyDeleteJust seen on e outside the other day, a red in the white barren display.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sublime image you have painted with your words....cardinals are an amazing bird to see in winter's snow.
ReplyDeleteTo me, one of the most beautiful sights in the world is a cardinal in a snowy vista.
ReplyDeleteKudos.
I love cardinals!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful January scene!
ReplyDeleteThis is so vivid and visual - exquisite, really.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful....
ReplyDeleteLife indeed has power beyond our imagination and can strive in any condition.
ReplyDeleteOh, for the bright flash of a cardinal! However, I am truly grateful for the small gleam of a robin!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images of red and white. Warm Wishes Trudessa. Thanks for dropping by my Sunday Standard this week
ReplyDeleteMuch💖love
When I visited Texas in 2006, I was amazed to see cardinals. We don't have them in Australia.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous scene you have painted here!💖
ReplyDeleteGorgeous imagery. Makes me sad I've never seen a cardinal (in the winter or otherwise)
ReplyDeleteHopeful beauty with a song in it. Delicious! And I love your note. Thanks for sharing it. <3
ReplyDeleteThat must have been such a beautiful sight. And how nice that it inspired this lovely poem of hope and beauty.
ReplyDeleteNice cinquains.A cool poem enjoyed in the heatwave down under.
ReplyDeleteWonderfully articulated, Truedessa. I wonder if the Cardinal has been blessed by the Pope! 😉
