The Silence of Snow

I awoke to the silence of a snow covered vista. Snowflakes dancing to a winter song.  My heart picks up a beat in the cold morning air.  I drift away to thoughts of you. Wishing to melt this distance between you and I.  A snowflake never falls in the wrong place,  each has its own journey and pace.  I dream of a spring thaw in hopes we will find the road of togetherness.

  1. Can it fall in the right place far far away? Sure comes down dancing at play. Like snow we all have our own journey indeed.

  4. So true. A snowflake never falls in the wrong place. But hopefully when it melts, the distance will be lessened....and all will be right in the world. Smiles!

  6. Love it. A beautiful - delicate - haibun. Wonderful writing with the prose and haiku pieces dovetailing together, seamlessly. Your words are wonderful. I especially thought that '... melt this distance …' was really superb.

  7. I love the sense of belonging the prose evokes. And how that belonging becomes even more in the promise weaved into the haiku. Yummy piece.

  10. I love how we took a similar walk and ended up with different view of the snow... maybe it depends on what we feel inside.

  11. I could hear the sizzle of snow-white noise in your haibun – silvery sibilance so beautifully painted.

  12. It looks great, sure, but I was enjoying winter without it. Driving in it or walking in it stinks. The cold of the last couple of days came out of nowhere too, it seems!

    1. Silver, it has been extremely cold here as well. I think sleet and freezing rains for tomorrow and Thursday.

      Stay warm and safe...
