Solitude Speaks Volumes

Phoenix Rising
I am weary, the quest to enlightenment has not been easy.  I often wonder where I've been
and where I am going.  It feels like I am caught between two worlds.   I seek solitude at
twilight.  There is a sense of peace as I gaze to the heavens.  Tears fall from my eyes.
I feel I might choke on the salty waters that I try to suppress.  Closing my eyes in
silence, I ask creator for a sign.  A sudden wind,  shifts my attention.  I open my eyes
to an amazing sight.  The phoenix hovers in a setting sun.  Encouraging me to dry
my tears, spring arrives renewing my spirit. There is light beyond doubts and darkness.

eternal brightness
awakening my spirit
phoenix springs forward

I enjoyed your poem immensely. Do not cry over lack of light within you. Enlightenment may come in stages or degrees. You have much light already.

  8. The universe is the best at giving signs (when we are looking), isn't it? We can never be truly lost if we don't allow ourselves to be, if when we are about to drown in our own tears... we find a way to open our eyes and see the boat the universe has been helping us build our of the ashes of our screams.
