Bless the Stars

Courtesy of Pixabay

Bless the stars for guiding light
hovering over silhouetted trees
 companions through the night

bless the moon for its soft glow
leading the way through darkness
into a realm where dreams grow

bless the sun for its warmth
nurturing earth and all creation
light has the ability to transform

Tilt -a- Whirl

Free ai generated galaxy stars illustration
courtesy Pixabay

The heavens are full of wonder
orbs of light shining bright
in silence a galaxy whirls
full of energy beyond human
grasp

a shooting star falls from the sky
the night sings a melancholy song
tilting into the shadow of a dream
lost forever

From Darkle to Sparkle

Free Trees Avenue photo and picture

Stormy sky becomes less darkle
autumn sunlight sparkles

walking amongst golden trees
palpable tension in the air eases

leaves crunching under her feet
feeling mother earth's heartbeat

there's an aura of magical splendor
into the limbs of nature she surrenders

embracing falls sparkling light

Last Night

I didn’t sleep much last night
my mind kept wandering as
it sometimes does

drifting in and out of dreams
to places I’ve been and some
not yet seen

the streetlight seems to be
brighter and I curse the light
and pray for sleep

Time of Darkness

Free Candles Candlelight photo and picture

A time of darkness has come
there is no new golden age
just some scattered crumbs
people losing a day's wage

A time of darkness has come
fundamental foundations gone
where is the light of the sun
boundaries have been drawn

A time of darkness has come
trying to get through changes
what has the world become
power and bitter exchanges

A time of darkness has come
hearts are waiting on a miracle
threads of hope coming UN-done
in a world that seems UN-steerable

A time of darkness has come
lost souls are waiting on angels
what will be the future outcome
how to turn the proverbial tables

A time of darkness has come
where is the light to guide us
false promises, do not succumb
our future sits on the cusp

In My Deepest January

Free Winter Lake photo and picture
Courtesy of Pixabay

In my deepest January
nature is my sanctuary
beauty in the snow covered land
solitary goose makes her stand

winter's weight is hard to carry
in my deepest January
frozen reflections dancing trees
songbirds lingering singing free

feeling the wrath of bitter squalls
my mighty fortress with no walls
in my deepest January
thawing hearts in February

starry heavens and dreamy nights
praying for longer days of light
nature is my sanctuary
in my deepest January

Autumn's Serenade

Free Colorful Autumn photo and picture
Courtesy of Pixabay

There is beauty in the way
sunlight illuminates the red
and orange-yellow leaves
of the oak and maple trees

rolling mountainside comes to
life in a brilliant array of colors

and I have fallen for autumn's
passionate serenade

a blue-rooted tune stirs
my soul

Stringing Stars

Free Star Winter illustration and picture
Courtesy of Pixabay

I would string glistening stars for you
lighting the way out of darkness
chasing away melancholy blues
composing a song, we’ll call progress
moving beyond this worldly view
there a place where we can decompress
singing songs of hope to see us through
