rising high in the evening glow
shining light on the earth below
filling space between the stars
hiding my craters, my scars
sometimes, I'm in a blue mood
romantic hearts, I have wooed
rising high in the evening glow
shining light on the earth below

Thank you for reading
A very timely subject - hello sturgeon moon. I think we can all relate to this part so well: hiding my craters, my scars
ReplyDeletesometimes, I'm in a blue mood. Also the lines 7 & 8, didn't read like a refrain; i read it with a sublte twist.
I like the vulnerability in this. The refrain is great and does feel a bit different at the end, if only we can catch it in full view! 💝
ReplyDeleteWonderful personification of the moon. Enjoyed this piece.
ReplyDeleteThis is just perfect. And i luv moon poems.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog.
Much💖love
I love that you are talking to the moon which I find so personal. This was so delightful ☺️💕
ReplyDeleteWonderful, I love how you make the repeat at the end seem fresh and new.
ReplyDeleteThis was very clever, with the craters and scars and blue mood. You really make the moon come alive in all her different aspects. Terrific!
ReplyDeleteVery nice flow!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful write, Truedessa. Love these lines especially:

I saw the moon last night - round, full, golden, with a hazy ring around it...........so beautiful, and so close!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLyrical and lithe, smiling while longing. Some mix up in the third couplet; your rhyme scheme was cd not cc it seems.
ReplyDeleteThanks Glenn, I will review it
DeleteSuch a lovely personification of the moon. You made me feel empathy for her <3
