Girl on a Swing - The Sunday Muse |
Who says you can’t dance in the clouds
where the heart beats thunderous loud
In a dream there was once you and I
making love with words until we cried
Seeking momentum in another realm
the guardian of the universe at the helm
Swinging high, then low in whispers of love
sharing our magic with the heavens above
Perhaps, the intensity made us fools of pain
our feet always dangling on the edge of sane
Tip-toeing in the clouds, where our souls met
those other-worldly moments, I will never forget
remembering the enchantment of what was said
If you believe there is joy in touching the sky
do it now, before the dream disappears and dies
Where the heart beats thunderous loud
who says you can't dance in the clouds
