Long after a dramatic sunset
restless lying in my bed
tomorrow planned in my head
contemplating the day’s regrets
Tonight, sleep is eluding me
yearning to drift into a dream or two
darkness haunts with thoughts of you
only sunrise will set me free

writing a 44 quadrille - incorporating the word sunrise
Thank you for visiting - insomnia makes for long nights
oh, we've all been there, truedessa. and yay for the sunrise that will save us!
ReplyDeleteBeing restless with regrets does make for a poor night of sleep! Well-penned, Truedessa.
ReplyDeleteA familiar situation, Truedessa, well captured.
ReplyDeleteThose restless nights--I think everyone has experienced this--and the sunrise that saves us.
ReplyDeleteThose nights when the brain just won't shut up!
ReplyDeleteAh yes....insomnia....and finally sleep. And I do think that watching the sunrise, can erase the uneasiness and remind us of the hope a new day brings!
ReplyDeleteI have been there.... and though sunrise puts an end to the suffering....
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling, when the thoughts wont stop and you cant sleep. I love that, with the sunrise, there is a brand new day and we can start again.
ReplyDeleteIn my many years, I could never count how many sunrises have revived me, helped begin life anew. I love your quadrille, True.
ReplyDeleteGreat quadrille, Truedessa!
