The super moon arrives full of light
tilting my head to gaze in amazement
can mere words describe my delight
fresh fallen snow covers the pavement
shivering in the cold, pondering life
listening to the neighbor’s barking dog
flickering stars seem unusually bright
clearing yesterday’s mysterious fog
tonight, I’ll navigate my way to you
following the beat of ancient drums
singing poetic songs in dreams of blue
there are words sitting on my tongue
some written, spoken or never said
some notes sit silently, never to be read

DeleteA beautiful poem Truedessa. "Some notes sit silently, never to be read" Seems that way with some of our poetry, yet still we write...
ReplyDeleteDwight - you are right sometimes that poetry sits silently but, it's still there.
