I hope to remember happy memories
be filled with positive energies
recalling nature and all its splendor
touching my deepest heart center
turning the page into the new year
grateful for life and just being here
gazing upon January’s full wolf moon
will my dreams once again be in tune
at night before I close my eyes
I think of the last piece of blue sky
whispering a prayer into the night
that I will see the morning light
drifting into the unknown realm
on this star-ship who is at the helm
guiding me in my deepest slumber
imagination awakens full of wonder
In the morning what will I remember
will dreams fade in last night’s embers
recalling fragments throughout the day
rays of light let me know all is okay

Your poem is filled with happiness. I like everything about it! Especially the meter and rhyme, and the progression from going to sleep, to dreaming, to waking.
Thank you Susan may your memories too be filled with positive energy.
DeleteI love everything about this poem, too - the gratitude, the wolf moon, the star-ship, and the wonder. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSherry, thank you! Have you seen the wolf moon. The clouds opened up and I was able to see it last night.
Delete~~~ thankful for the rays of light, yes oh yes. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI am always thankful for the light. Happy New Year Helen!
DeleteThat last piece of blue sky
ReplyDeleteWon't ever say goodbye
It's there to stay
In your inner eye to play
And smile at you
At your True Blue Shoe.
Happy New Year
Blue
May the sun always shine
Deleteand the planets align
may poetry always find a way
to brighten each and every day
may your smile always be true
and your heart never blue....

DeleteThis is really good, Truedessa. I love the way you were able to rhyme. And, alas, remembering happy memories at such a time is the very best! Happy New Year to you, Truedessa!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Mary - wishing you peace and joy in your journey.
DeleteWhat a lovely, peaceful mood you paint with your poem. It is a blessing if passing in such a peaceful way is how we go…
