Ibbi Pip

Ibbi Pip Birdhouse Troll

Ibbi Pip wanders through the musical forest
beneath the canopy of interlocking tree branches
her thoughts are filled with nature and human kind
she hums to the sound of chickadees and sparrows

singing her song of hope and love

Carrying her sack of colorful birdhouses
slowly but steadily she hangs each one with care
listening for the tap tap tap of a woodpecker
her mind drifts as she roams from tree to tree

singing her song of sharing the world

Ibbi observed humans building these in their yards
a vision formed, she found her purpose in life
sharing her creativity with a smile on her face
one birdhouse at a time her heart swells with love

singing her song of compassion for nature

sharing with dVerse Open Link Night hosted by Mish

author's note:  I went to see an exhibit "Trolls Save the Humans" Created by Danish recycling artist Thomas Dambo from reclaimed materials, these larger-than-life figures blend folklore, sustainability, and storytelling.

  1. How wonderfully you show us Ibbi Pip - a poem that flows as easily as a fable - Jae

If only there are many Ibbi Pips that can teach a thing or 2 to humans and make a better tomorrow. Great thoughts True!

  9. This has triggered a very early memory in me that I can't quite get a hold of anymore. Maybe it was a dream....
