you encompass
my nights
oracle of dreams
hugging me close
cutting through
darkness..
shining light
you breathe
life into
my soul
you dare me
to journey
into the unknown
exploring the labyrinth
passageways of my mind
you whisper
in my ear
lover's secrets
rendezvous of
the heart
teetering
edge of insanity
haunting memories
jumping cliffs
spreading golden wings
soaring vast heaven
mystical realms
sailing ships
tranquil blue waters
dancing under starlight
hand in hand
cheek to cheek
your body melts into mine
gasping for air
in the hush of night
white owls take flight
crystal shower soft hues
lost in thoughts of you
ode to dreams
posted for dVerse writing odes to..my own version..
Your dreams (or reality) take you on a real trip, girl! And a reader is right there with every loving moment, emotion.
ReplyDeleteCAN'T get this song out of my mind:
"Whadda ya know, he smiled at me
in my dreams last night
my dreams are getting better all the time..."

Thanks for your kind comment(s) Truedessa
...and yes P&L :-)
Hi Steve,
DeleteThanks for sharing the song link..my dreams are getting better all the time..a nice ballad..before my time but, I do love any kind of music.
P&L :-)
Sigh. This is such a lovely, lyrical flight. I especially adore
ReplyDelete"haunting memories
jumping cliffs
spreading golden wings
soaring vast heaven"
Yes. That is what I want, exactly.
Hi Sherry,
DeleteThanks wouldn't be great to soar on golden wings...
oh nice...love me a good dream... i dream very seldom..mostly in the space when i wake very early in the morn and fall asleep again for half an hour or so...and mostly really weird stuff then...smiles... maybe i have to write an ode to my dreams as well, so that they go a bit more in the direction yours go...smiles
ReplyDeleteWell, you are dreaming at the right time as that is when we have our most powerful dreams.
DeleteEnchanting dreams.............
ReplyDeleteEnchanted they are...
DeleteI dream long symbolic dreams, easy to interpret..they reflect what makes me happy and my fears and the current state of affairs...your ode to them is very "happening";)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much and may you follow your dreams to help you in your waking life..
DeleteThe opening lines are brilliant
ReplyDeleteyou encompass
my nights
and the poem that follows does not disappoint in any way. I don't remember my dreams often; maybe, like Claudia, I don't dream much?
Thank you for the lovely comment..We all dream the problem is recalling them upon waking.
Deleteall the dancing and adventure...i want some of what you are having....smiles....my dreams oft dance the edge of insanity...ha...
ReplyDeletei dont remember mine like i once did....
Brian,
DeleteOh it can be fun to dance on the edge of insanity..lol..go to sleep with a dream intention and see what happens..
If dreams could be like this... I'm afraid mine are nightmares.. as I tend to wake up in angst... love the progression of the poem. (BTW is there a typo in the first stanza... shinning light?)..
ReplyDeleteBjorn
DeleteThank you! I fixed that nasty typo..smiling..hope you have a good day..
You dream beautiful dreams....they must be wonderful to experience AND remember. Like a few people before me, I am not one who remembers dreams if I indeed have them.
ReplyDeleteMary,
DeleteWe all dream but, sometimes they are fragmented...I tend to dream full scale adventures..
I love where dreams take you ~ Alas for me I don't remember my dreams anymore ~ Perhaps I remember vaguely but its like they are sleeping in another part of me and don't want to be shaken free ~
ReplyDeleteGrace,
DeleteWell, maybe you need to shake up the dreamworld and see what it has to say..I'm sure there is a tale..
Your dreams flow
ReplyDeleteAt your show
taking you to worlds afar
No need for a car
Just follow the owl
Or another spirits howl
And what may come
from their hum
Who really knows
as the wind blows
And on the blue sea
two sail living free
what's life without some dreams
Deleteexploring various themes
sliding on golden moonbeams
traveling our ship on the high seas
captain at the helm with ease...
Love being able to remember my dreams, they often reveal things that I am trying to tell myself.
ReplyDeleteThat is very true..listen to your dreams for they know the way...
DeleteDreams - sometimes friend, sometimes foe.
ReplyDeleteThat is true sometimes dreams are good and sometimes bad..and sometimes they can be scary.
DeleteThis has a wonderful dreamy feel in sync with the content. Thanks. Truedessa -- k
