oh, to taste the grapes of the vine
harvesting their plump juiciness
flavor-able upon my lips
falling into dreaminess
white wispy clouds float
..opening my senses to
the heady aroma..
ah, to taste the grapes of the vine
does the sun shine
brighter
when I am in your presence
heavy burdens seem
lighter
drifting farther into space
..opening my eyes to
the wonders of you..
oh, to taste the grapes of the vine
engaging in passionate lands
harmonious we finally meet
bodies blend, heaven expands
partaking in the goblet
..opening my heart to
the gift of love..

I can see a summer day and a bottle of wine shared between lovers.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you meant something completely different, then just ignore me...
Hi Alex,
DeleteThanks for the comment. You know I wouldn't ignore you. I always appreciate your visits.
we have a grape arbor out back...and when you taste that first grape of the season....mmm..you can almost taste the sunlight in it....def blends well with passion as well...
ReplyDeleteHi Brian,
DeleteI think I have a blend of emotions going on in this poem. I have been to a couple of vineyards and it was fun to do the wine tasting.
Love the gift of grapes...it reminded me old places, where I saw such grape growing and tasted too...nice associations here with sharing the gifts and beauty and hearts.....
ReplyDeleteThanks humbird..I do enjoy grapes and wine occasionally.
DeleteThis why I grow much of my own food in summer....the love, the tastes all are so much stronger...they bring pure bliss.
ReplyDeleteI agree, there is something about the freshness..

Deletehhmmmm... the taste of grapes... def. something sensual in it... i'm living in a wine region over here... hills and hills of grapes surrounding me... nothing better than going for a little walk there in the autumn..
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a nice place for a walk..
DeleteWe are surrounded by vineyards, and as I type, I can hear farmers in the distance pruning, the buzz of the electric saws preparing each vine for optimal growth, and ultimately, sweet fruit.
ReplyDeleteLots of things I can connect with in your lovely poem, today. Thanks for sharing.
Poppy
Hi Poppy,
DeleteI imagine a lot of work goes into keeping these vineyards up.
i always dream to be in a field of grapes and actually tasting it there. but for the meantime, your poem does that to me :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Totomai..maybe, you could drink wine and soar in one of those hot air balloons.
DeleteLiterally or metaphorically, a lovely thing to wish.
ReplyDeleteI guess it creates a bit of allure..
DeleteDreamy :)
ReplyDeletethank you..
DeleteI believe it will be tasted and savoured...how can 'you' resist..although sometimes the thought and temptation is better than the reality so just as goos to keep it as a glorious wish...
ReplyDeleteAh, to dream of far away lands..
DeleteOne of my close friends gave me a cutting from his grapevine, which I'm cultivating in my nursery, so that I can start growing my own grapes this summer. This poem only adds to the eagerness of plucking that first grape.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have success and get to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
DeleteThere's just something about the combination of wine and love that brings such passion. Thank goodness for grapes! ;) And isn't is nice when someone can make 'heavy burdens seem lighter'? I think that's one of the best feelings :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess all that is needed is some music and you have created magic..
DeleteThank you Loredana..glad you enjoyed the poem.
ReplyDeleteA toast to friends!
