until the river
bends
and I drift into
the sea
in my heart you'll
always be
love a mystery
that never ends
laid my dreams in
a river bed
heartache, silent
ripples of loss
skipping stones
with just one toss
recalling all the
words we said
riding waves through eternity
rolling off
shorelines of paradise
tossed in the
waters of sacrifice
seeking a piece of
serenity
until the river
bends
and I drift into
the sea
in my heart you'll
always be
love a mystery
that never ends
lulled to sleep,
by a mariner's song
billowing sails of
tranquility
verses of poetic
sensibility
tears wept for a
love so strong
beacon of light
flickers ahead
parting clouds , sun does shine
slowly giving
birth in a river bed
those wondrous
dreams of mine
until the river
bends
and I drift into
the sea
in my heart you'll
always be
love a mystery
that never ends
Thanks for reading...

Beautifully executed...highly charming! Your poem depicts your romantic soul... :)
ReplyDeleteI specially adore the lines:
"until the river bends
and I drift into the sea
in my heart you'll always be
love a mystery that never ends"
xoxo
Thank you for the lovely comment..I am known to be a hopeless romantic..
DeleteParticularly the end was intriguing.. the estuary is indeed a place of parting... the metaphor worked very well.
ReplyDeleteHi Bjorn, Happy Sunday..thanks for reading..
DeleteThe repeated lines really give it that kick indeed, lyrical for sure at your feed. The river sure twists about this way and that.
ReplyDeleteThe rivers twists and turns when you least expect it, well I have a couple of versions of this, but this is the one I decided to go with today.
Deleteyou used lovely images.. close to my heart.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! We need that beacon of light.
ReplyDeleteThat we do need a light to guide the way...
DeleteI often lull myself to sleep.
ReplyDeleteSmiling...me too...
DeleteAs if I didn't know. ;)
DeleteSo passionate to read, Truedesa. It's like a romantic song I'd like to listen to again and again. Love, indeed, moves in mysterious ways. Thanks for the poem!

Thank Kelvin, How are you my friend? I am always delighted when you visit.
DeleteI am doing fine though I have had to limit blogging for at least once a week, usually during Sundays, due to conflict on my scheds at work. Smiles. I hope you are well too my friend. Thank you!

Hi Kelvin, I am glad to hear you are doing well and just busy with work..Take care my friend..
DeleteJust so beautiful and so much yearning and love in this:)
ReplyDeleteThank you ..hope you are enjoying your day..
DeleteThis is very romantic with a bit of mystery since we understand the relationship probably is no more.
ReplyDeleteThere is always mystery within the waters of love..
DeleteBeautiful words, but I love how even the 'shape' of the words looks like undulating waves.
ReplyDeletehmm..I hadn't noticed that thanks for opening my eyes to the waves..
DeleteAnd here I thought you did that on purpose. That's even more impressive.
DeleteIt almost reminds me of when someone asks me about the symbolism I put in a book... and I actually didn't intend anything poignant or metaphorical. It was just literal. Maybe the subconscious is smarter than we give it credit for and we meant to do it all along...?
That is an interesting concept, but I do believe the subconscious is very smart. Hmm..I am always seeing symbolism in things and I often wonder if it is just me or do others see it as well?
DeleteI very much like the repetition of 'in my heart you'll always be.' As I read this poem, I kind of felt as if I was riding the waves.....not only in the sea but right to that eternity you spoke of.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
DeleteThank you for the comment, as I writer it is gratifying to know someone can feel the words. I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
I love the refrain, until the river ends ~ Romantic and hopeful despite the pain of loss ~
ReplyDeleteSome adversity can be overcome...
DeleteI especially love the repeated stanza, and "laid my dreams in a river bed". This is such a beautiful poem, my friend.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry,
DeleteThanks as always my friend..I didn't see the owl poem today???
Lyrical and hypnotic in feel, but quiet clear in its message, I can appreciate a sense of confession, about a tie no longer bound.
ReplyDeleteLovely!!
Poppy
hypnotic a good word to describe the journey...
DeleteBeautiful poem...they dance like lyrics of a love song.
ReplyDeleteThank you...
Deletea promise of eternal love - with or without the lover. melancholic, hopeful and intriguing

Deletedreams being birthed in a river bed...I like that.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gail, it a good place to hatch some dreams..
Deletei like this flow to the sunshine...a beautiful poem..
ReplyDeleteThank you..let the water flow...
DeleteI love that repeated chorus..we must always keep trying..just as the sea keeps on moving
ReplyDeletethat is so true in life we have to keep moving...
DeleteAn eternal love that lingers on just as the way the water flows! A beautiful write Truedessa!
ReplyDeleteHank
Thank you #1 Hank...
DeleteThis poem has a beautiful flow, a calm rhythm, like ocean waves. The minute I started reading it I felt the motion, soft and subtle but so solid and strong. I think this rhythm is what first took me into the poem and then the words painted the picture.
ReplyDeleteIt's as if your poem is like a slow dance.
Lauren, Thanks so much for the lovely comment and visiting. So, tell me will it be big ears or small?
