Christ in the Wilderness by Stanley Spencer |
In a vast field of wildflowers love grows
expanding the boundaries of the
heart
delicate daisies will open and glow
in a vast field of wildflowers love
grows
enlightenment in parables and prose
shadowy darkness in light will
depart
in a vast field of wildflowers love
grows
expanding the boundaries of the
heart

This is an extremely beautiful poem, my friend. Congrats on the three years of blogging. What a journey it is, indeed..........I cant believe where it has taken me and how far it has pushed me beyond what I would have done on my own. And the friends we have made! Yay! So happy our paths crossed here!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry,

DeleteJust so beautiful, may the world be filled with this love for humanity . Could you please tell which poetic form have you used?
ReplyDeleteThe form would be a Triolet...
DeleteLove where you brought this lovely field of poetry... Love the three years of blogging... I'm so happy to have you around.
ReplyDeleteBjorn, thank you so much 3 years is very symbolic to me so I am reflective this day!
DeleteA lovely one.
ReplyDeleteWhy does Christ look awfully nekid in that illustration? :)
Hey Dezzie, I am not sure the art is subjective and one can see many things. As I look at it this morning the wilderness meant a time of darkness or cloudiness and he seems to have taken the form of a cloud but, to me clouds bring rain and rain brings flowers and growth. So he could be filled with water for the spirit. I don't know just the wanderings of my mind.
Deletecongrats on your lovely 3 years of blogging...this is a beautiful poem..."expanding the boundaries of the heart" love the line...
ReplyDeleteThank you Sumana...expanding our hearts will open doors to possibility in the world.
DeleteHappy third anniversary - and the lightness in this growth is magical..even the image although he looks heavy seems light - light and love indeed!
ReplyDeleteThank you - He does look heavy it must be the weight of the world as it can be hard to carry...
DeleteI agree this is a beautiful poem in word and thought...the imagery of the wildflowers makes me smile and I loved how the repeating of the lines...'in a vast field of wildflowers love grows expanding the boundaries of the heart' made such a wonderful impact.

Congratulations!! So happy for you :D
ReplyDeleteA wonderful write! The first 2 lines, especially are splendid! AND congratulations on 3 years of blogging.
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy, thank you the first two lines just came to me as soon as I viewed the image. I guess they are the bookends that hold the poem together.
DeleteHow did he find time to tear himself away from the wildflowers and save the world ?
ReplyDeleteGood question - to me he was filled with the spirit sort of what the picture implies he is filled - expanded...he was sent to the wilderness to prepare for his journey ahead that would save mankind and give the gift of eternal life. There are questions we will never know the answer to that is why it is called "faith" ..Perhaps the world still needs to be saved as we slowly destroy our natural habitat. Sorry, I don't have the answers to these perplexing questions.
DeleteI like the poem very much, feel this expansion of love through the flowers to heart....nice
ReplyDeleteThank you humbird..
