This Snow Needs to Go

clouds
pregnant gray
birthing cold snowflakes
blanketing signs of spring life
sun

author's note: I am watching the
snow fall dreaming of warmer
days. I gave the Cinquain a new twist.

  1. You did twist. This in combination with your note at PU tells a long, long story. Sweet. These pregnant clouds have to stop producing sometime!

  4. Sadly mankind is upsetting the weather patterns for in parts of Australia we have had the hottest days ever. You'd never think that a stupid animal like man could upset weather patterns but it is happening.

    1. The form doesn’t use the traditional syllable count 2, 4, 6, 8, 2 , instead I used 1,3,5,7,1 - giving it a new twist

  8. Hi Truedessa - you do seem to be having more than your fair share of the white stuff ... finally our warm weather has disappeared and we have cloud and wet - but we need that too. Your poem is delightful - cheers Hilary

  10. Your poem describes New York City's sky (yesterday). It was all darkness and snow to come. Today, the sky is blue and the sun is grinning like a happy fool. Spring is coming...

...but yes, I suspect that there will be more snow-pregnant skies in between.

Here in the UK we have had unseasonably spring-like weather, but I think that will be changing very soon.
