I dreamt of meeting you
eye to eye, heart to heart
soul to soul...
but, you chose to be invisible
hiding behind a cloak of
mystery
our words, poems and songs
were the visible evidence
of our spiritual connection...
what is invisible to the eye
is not invisible to the heart
love is inexplicable

I've been there in a relationship
ReplyDeleteoh such a tender poem about wanting to know the heart of the one she loves.
ReplyDeleteSometimes that's how a relationship goes...
ReplyDeleteAnd so it is. As long as the deep connection is there, it may be all that matters in the end.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.....the pain of connection when one person holds back. Every relationship of mine was with someone emotionally elusive. Except for a big black wolf. Which is why he meant so much.
ReplyDeleteSometimes -- hell, usually -- one person in a relationship gives more than the other. (More what can vary.) I once described a friend's relationship with a woman by saying "For every 60% he gives, she gives 30%. And he wonders why he never comes up with 100." Oh, well, it seemed pretty profound when I first said it one drunken evening.
ReplyDeleteSure how many a way goes when love flows.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad to see dreams fall away when it seems so right....
ReplyDeleteYes Truedessa, the heart cann see what the voice may not. Wonderful write.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautifully eloquent! Sometimes we come across people who only bring half of themselves to the table. We deserve better!!❤️
ReplyDeleteI really like the final stanza...so true!
ReplyDeleteYou sum it up well with "Love is inexplicable." A lovely poem.
ReplyDeleteLove such a connection beyond the visible... inexplicable is the truth
ReplyDeleteThis is so true!
