Waves of Light

courtesy of artist

Serenity rolls in on waves of light
my melodious heart rises and falls
over the horizon dreams take flight

I wonder where you are this night
do you understand the seabirds call
serenity rolls in on waves of light

In a vast heaven the stars ignite
sandy shores hermit crabs crawl
over the horizon dreams take flight

Whales songs inspire poets to write
happier memories, I wish to recall
serenity rolls in on waves of light

Sand castles,  reminders  of daylight
dark storms in the distance stall
over the horizon dreams take flight

Billowing clouds, hope sails tonight
open your eyes, experience it all
serenity rolls in on waves of light
over the horizon dreams take flight

Waves aren't so serene to those poor sand castles.

  12. I like this moment of surrender to serenity, even when there are concerns still bobbing about in the ocean of our minds. The storm is still a good way off, and there is nothing wrong with enjoying a bit of peace while we have it.

Enjoy the moments of wondrous light before the darkness comes..

Wonderful villanelle True! The repeated lines somehow has a hold on one's attention.

How has it been with you, Ma'am? Been missing you too ever since Pat changed his format! The sense of urgency is missing now. In fact Hank missed a few times to post at Pat's place as the time of posting is at random. Will make it a point however, to look you up.

    1. Hi Hank,

Thanks for stopping over. I am doing okay, thanks for asking. We did have a fun run trying for the coveted number 1. Pat is very random now, so I guess we are like two ships in the night.

May your sail always blow in a gentle wind.
