The Sunday Muse Photo Prompt |
Today, you are enough, I invite you
on a shamanic journey of transformation
close your eyes, allow yourself entry into
a sacred place of peace within you
Today, you are enough remove the
cloaks that no longer serve you in
your quest for a higher consciousness
there is truth in nakedness
Today, you are enough let your heart
beat in rhythm with the ancestral
drum of mother earth, realigning
mind, body and spirit, pulsating
with the universe as one being
thump, thump, thump
Today, let your visions expand
seeing from a new perspective
embrace a field of slow change
growing with renewed energy
Today, let feathers and talons
sprout from the brokenness
of life, dreams shift in the night
offering flight on open wings
Today, let yourself soar un-tethered
circling your intentions from me to we
to heal a weary world from darkness
into a song of rebirth.....
thump, thump, thump

author's note: I saw this photo yesterday and meditated
on it's meaning. Last night I dreamt of transformation
peace, love and transformation
These gorgeous lines speak to every broken heart! This is a stunning poem in response to the image Truedessa! I love the note at the end too. This is one of your finest my friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Carrie, the photo really moved me today.
DeleteAnd now I'd just like to fly away. I'm not sure if the "thump, thump, thump" is the beat of a heart or the beat of wings. I think it's both.
ReplyDeleteThey could be beating in sychroncity.
DeleteBeautiful. The last stanza....oh, would that we could free a weary world of darkness into a song of rebirth. Such an uplifting thought.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bev, we need a song of rebirth.
DeleteLuv the song of re-birth your poem sings
ReplyDeleteHappy you dropped by to read mine Truedessa

Gillena, thank you! Always a please to drop by your place.
DeleteI love this poem, especially "let your heart beat in rhythm with the ancestral drum of mother earth, realigning mind, body and spirit, pulsating with the universe as one being". Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry, we need to listen to that drum closely.
DeleteTruedessa I imagined myself walking the labyrinth as I read this, calling in the blessed spirits. It's one that could be recorded and listened to while going into a meditative state. Really good!
ReplyDeleteWell, it was born in a meditative state of dreaming.
DeleteI followed along behind in the journey. It was very telling, could we do this? I particularly liked the lines, "let yourself soar un-tethered circling your intentions from me to we to heal a . . ."
ReplyDeleteGood too on the sound device, I am not an expert here, Onomatopoeia (??), "heart beat in rhythm with the ancestral drum of mother earth, realigning mind, body and spirit, pulsating . . ." followed by the three "thumps" which were repeated in the ending song.
Good Job!!
..
Thanks Jim for leaving your thoughts, thump, thump, thump to the power of 3.
DeleteHi Truedessa - outstanding poem and take on the image - really letting us think out of the box and away to less earthly necessities - the ancestral rhythm of life, which it will always be - and which we need to revere. Have a peaceful week - Hilary
ReplyDeleteThank you Hilary, wishing you a peaceful week as well.
DeleteI love the spiritual take on the prompt. "Today, let feathers and talons / sprout from the brokenness / of life," My favorite lines. Beautiful.

A perfect stanza for this rhythmic poem.

ReplyDeletethat is enough to move forward in life...
