Elipse of the Heart - Diamond Ring

spectrum news photo

On the path of totality
a rare occurrence, a total eclipse
gathering of hopefuls to catch a glimpse

On the path of totality
moon passing between earth and sun
a celestial event, no one can stop what has begun

On the path of totality
as, the moon makes its journey, one feels the chill
the birds stop flying and became eerily still

On the path of totality
drumming, I offer a song to the heavenly spheres
watching the few remaining clouds disappear

On the path of totality
vision of a life-time, the sun’s corona shines
a sense of other worldliness –  something divine

  1. How wonderful to witness that, to hear the birds go still, and to drum and sing through the mystical occurrence. Wonderful!

  9. There is something divine, it seems to me. I like the form you chose for this piece and the repetition works well.

  11. You've captured the magic of an eclipse--it was mostly covered by clouds here.
