Willow Grows

Willow

Marveling at your contours and gracefulness
your branches arch creating a canopy
that dares to kiss the lips of earth
slowly flowering in the light of spring
your roots thirst for growth...

I am optimistic that poets will always
find your beauty alluring

  2. Beautiful, Truedessa, and I especially liked, "a canopy
that dares to kiss the lips of earth." I love willows and this one looks magnificent.

  4. Truedessa, my property has 2 huge willows out front and a bunch out back. They never fail to inspire me with their grace. I always feel protected under their canopy. And the cicadas love them!

  5. A lovely ode-quadrille to the willow, Truedessa! We have a wonderful curly willow in our garden with similar ‘contours and gracefulness’, and she is covered in pussy willow flowers at the moment.

  11. I too marvel at those contours and find agreement in future poets also marvelling.
