The summer rain came
in torrential downpours
flooding streets and hearts
with despair…
sudden wind shifts with a burst
of cool air...
bending the weeping willow
a piece of sun filters through
arcing across the sky a rainbow
smiling with hope for earthly
repairs…

Sorry to hear the rain has been extreme in your area, Truedessa. What a relief for you, to see light pop through and then a rainbow.
ReplyDeleteGreat use of rhyme in your quadrille, Truedessa, and I love ‘hope for earthly repairs’.

I love the shift from torrential downpour to gentle hope in the end of your poem.
ReplyDeleteI too like the movement from anguish to hope ~
ReplyDeleteHoping for earthly repairs is a good way to think.
ReplyDeleteA double edged sword, blessing and curse in one moment, but yet needing repair as do I/we, wonderful.
