How do we tip the scales so there is balance
what must we add what must we take away
is the answer found in some mysterious talent

How do we judge what is considered equal
sunlight is just as beautiful as moonlight
which is more majestic a condor or eagle

How do we create stability in a world of madness
can hate be taken away with a bit more love
will happiness tip the weight of sadness

Perhaps, equilibrium starts within oneself
living in the state of now, brings steadiness
filling the heart with purpose, finding yourself

In your dark haunting eyes
I saw the storms you tried to hide
I saw where wild passion resides

billowing sails took you away
there was nothing more to say
no words, could make you stay

love just a rollin' wave
in a deep sea of mystic blue
you were a song driftin' away

 dreamin' of you, all night through
 you know it's true, true true
 my heart always sailed to you, you, you

the universe bedazzled us
the melody of the sea tremulous
often we floated anchor-less

on cloudless nights, searching the sea
harmony seems to be off key
lost are the verses of you and me

love just a rollin' wave

Who knows what tales the night will spin
the Cheshire cat sits with a gigantic grin

Lone Gull

A gull stands alone
searching the vast sea
I wonder how far she has flown
on wide wings she is free
far from broken dreams
nothing is as it seems
