Seasons Change

Summer prepares to wave goodbye
fall approaches with crisp cool air
seeing a praying mantis is rare
overhead the great blue heron flies

In poetic beauty the willow cries
her long thin boughs seem to flare
fall approaches with colorful fanfare
summer prepares to wave goodbye

The falling leaves are colored died
cheery songbirds have flown elsewhere
two mourning doves cooing a prayer
overhead the great blue heron flies

Summer prepares to wave goodbye
intricate spiderwebs are now threadbare
overhead the great blue heron flies

Summer leaves in Autumn's Riff

It seems as though you are still summer
but, the songs of the trees have changed
summer leaves in autumn's riff
pulling at my heartstrings
falls leaves me singing
familiar tunes
crimson red
thoughts of
you

Summer is Fading Away

sunset

summer days are fading away
my heart wishes for you to stay
fall begins its awakening
my love a gift un-wavering

dreaming of a cosmotic flight
beyond the stars forever bright
navigating heavenly grids
opening passageways well hid

crossing the vast milky way
intelligence amidst blue haze
mysteries of the seven stars
light of love, the universe ours

I want to bask in summer's glow
fall marches onward, this I know
dreams lead me to starlit places
filling the void of empty spaces

Stop, Look Before You Go!

Photo @ Truedessa

stop behold the wonders of autumn
autumn, a time of changing views
views, in wondrous hues of color
color, brightens the journey ahead
ahead, a winding road leading up
up,  narrow rocky trails dangerously steep
steep, climbing each step with a deep inhale
inhale, exhale the UN-polluted mountain air
air, crisp and clean the need to breathe
breathe, in moments before they are gone
gone, are the days when I traveled lost
lost are my dreams of yesterday, today I live
live, for today embracing glorious light
light, the source that guides the wanderer
wanderer, the one who seeks eyes of the dragon
dragon, guards the dreamers secret lair
lair, hidden sanctuary panoramic window
window, eyes of an oracle, feeling whole
whole, body, heart and soul inter-locking
inter-locking, jigsaw fitting together united
united, in effulgent  light, the prism of life
life, the journey between here and there
there, the place of higher consciousness
consciousness, the state of being truly awake
awake, transcending dreams to a new reality
reality, perception translated in an autumn day

Leaves of Bravery

Victory, A Knight Being Crowned With A Laurel Wreath" by Frank Dicksee
A gallant knight
crowned with laurel leaves
a sign of bravery

Tis, the day to win his lady love
not, by the swiftness of sword
but, through poetic words

Golden stars fall from heaven
in soft bed of leaves, moist kiss
cupping her heart

Dreaming in an Autumn Scented Afternoon

On a riverbank  she stood many moons ago
firelight danced between towering pines
she heard his soft velvet voice whispering
a language that only she could understand

beyond  a sea of clouds, new horizon awaits
his dark hair glistens in sunbursts of orange
her body becomes flushed with thoughts..
floating weightlessly, poems from her heart

dreaming in an autumn scented afternoon
ripples of water flowing over mossy rocks
red maple leaves carrying secret messages
in a gentle breeze, she feels his warm touch

inhaling and exhaling breathing deep
desire filling her lungs..lost in the moment

branches sway, twigs crack a lush forest bed
curtains of summer close,  fall quietly arrives
distant drums vibrate chanting a warrior's song
two wild spirits dance to the rhythmic beat

red tail hawk glides across pearly blue skies
new harvest ripe filling their endless hunger
hot sparks ignite within smoldering  eyes
following trails of their wandering souls

memories of the journey overwhelming
quivering she embraces a world unknown
streams of their lives merging into one
a river of currents they willingly ride

sharing their innermost thoughts
no words are necessary to understand
