It seems as though you are still summer
but, the songs of the trees have changed
summer leaves in autumn's riff
pulling at my heartstrings
falls leaves me singing
familiar tunes
crimson red

Thank you for your visit
feeling a bit melancholy
Very nice Nonet, Trudessa! Love the red leaves of Fall!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dwight - the leaves are just starting to turn here. Soon autumn will arrive.
DeleteThere is a sadness to the songs of the trees. Hope you are well.
ReplyDeleteI hear the sadness of the trees.
DeleteGorgeous nonet, Truedessa!
ReplyDelete"The songs of the trees have changed" -- what an original and wistful way to express that!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenna I think they sing a new song these days.
DeleteWOW! So much emotion alone in this piece. The last few lines... That's going to stick with me for a bit tonight. Wow, it is expressed with poignance and it's very haunting in that recollection of memory.
ReplyDeleteTruedessa that second line is perfect.
ReplyDeleteGreat use of sound in your nonet, Truedessa, and the punch of colour in the final lines!
ReplyDeleteSO beautiful! I love "the songs of the trees have changed."
ReplyDeleteHi Truedessa - beautiful colours ... ours are an early crisp ... on the coast it's been really dry ... but autumn has some amazing wonders. Lovely poem. Take care - Hilary
ReplyDeleteI like the way that one descends.
ReplyDeleteyou added so much music as to make the saying 'ringing in the changes' come to life - I really enjoyed this Nonet
ReplyDeleteThe riff and the music—lovely
ReplyDeleteI like how you've woven music throughout this.
ReplyDeleteMagical musical .... this appeals to the flute playing, song singing part of me. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThis time of the year is really the time to remember those who have left us.
ReplyDeleteThe trees sure are a swaying to the new reality of fall.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this :)
