Summer is Fading Away

sunset

summer days are fading away
my heart wishes for you to stay
fall begins its awakening
my love a gift un-wavering

dreaming of a cosmotic flight
beyond the stars forever bright
navigating heavenly grids
opening passageways well hid

crossing the vast milky way
intelligence amidst blue haze
mysteries of the seven stars
light of love, the universe ours

I want to bask in summer's glow
fall marches onward, this I know
dreams lead me to starlit places
filling the void of empty spaces

  1. Sure a fading and no matter how much one wants it to stay, will have to wait until the next June's return day. Dream places can hopefully be warm though.

    1. Me too Bjorn - While I enjoy the autumn splendor of color it is short lived, then the leaves fall and the cold winter air comes.

  10. A wonderful rhyme and cadence in this lovely, wistfully penned piece that tenderly articulates the bitter-sweet poignancy that so often accompanies the end of a passage and/or season.

  12. An excellent rhyme and rhythm to this poem. It tells so evocatively about the passing of the seasons and the stars. The passing of summer and the bitterness and yes, the sweetness of the passing.

  15. Wherever humans are they always want something better. Even with four seasons we moan yet others with hot, wet, windy and dry at any time in the year moan too. We are never contented like a dog with a bone and live for the day.

  16. There's a feel of a fairy tale here, where summer is the lover that stays for a brief while, and then the beloved mourns during the time they are apart.
