The wild waves roll relentlessly
summer winds blow restlessly
reclining in my Tommy Bahama chair
breathing in the fresh salty ocean air
umbrellas tumbling down the beach
overhead rowdy seagulls screech
creating quite a lively rumpus
pondering all the magic
this day may encompass

incorporating the word rumpus

My kind of rumpus. Nature knows how to put on a party.
ReplyDeleteSounds like wise not to bring an umbrella----
ReplyDeleteWonderfully described and cleverly rhymed.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful rumpus, Truedessa. I love the ebb and flow in the shape of the poem, the rhyming couplets, the appeal to the senses – and those ‘umbrellas tumbling down the beach’.
ReplyDeleteUmbrellas tumbling down the beach is certainly a rumpus!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got to the seaside. You took me there, with your poem.
ReplyDeleteLove it, Truedessa! Great quadrille!
