The heavens are full of wonder
orbs of light shining bright
in silence a galaxy whirls
full of energy beyond human
grasp
a shooting star falls from the sky
the night sings a melancholy song
tilting into the shadow of a dream
lost forever

incorporating the word whirl

So beautiful, the whirling galaxy, the mournful song..........
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry, I was sky watching last night.
DeleteVery good, Truedessa. Your poem made me wonder... is there sounds in the universe if there is no one there to hear it? :>)
ReplyDeleteDwight - interesting thought to ponder. I think the universe pulsates or hums but, it is not audible to the human ear. But, then again how will we know?
DeleteTruedessa, you made me think about and caring about the falling of an individual star. Thank you. Who knows how long it had been lighting the sky before then.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder about those falling stars as they shot across the sky.
DeleteBeautiful I especially love the last line
ReplyDeleteToo many are lost forever....
DeleteBravo!!!
ReplyDeleteMuch♡love
Yay - thanks so much Gillena
DeleteI love how it whirl ties to the visual of the night sky
ReplyDeleteThanks Bjorn, I was sky-watching over the weekend by a fire.
DeleteSpace is the best place to see whirls, Truedessa, and the ‘energy beyond human grasp’. I have yet to see a shooting star this year, so the one in your quadrille is so welcome.
ReplyDeleteI agree Kim, plenty of whirls and swirls out in the universe.
DeleteOne lost out of millions...
ReplyDeleteOne out of millions and the chance of seeing one is rare. They feel magical when you see one.
DeleteI can see this whirl of beauty, as it spills. Love it, Truedessa.
ReplyDeleteDe
Thanks De, for the prompt word.
DeleteHeavenly poetry, Truedessa.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dora
DeleteI like the somewhat haunting note.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rosemary
DeleteIt's been a fair few years since I have seen a shooting star. I never thought about it being melancholy before.
ReplyDeleteI see once every once in a while. It really is an amazing site but, sad that they are burning up.
DeleteThe skies are rather amazing, aren't they
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, I can get lost in thought when sky-gazing.
