| A Public Garden with People Walking in the Rain Vincent van Gogh |
Walk with me on this rainy day
let us embrace this dreary gray
silvery droplets run down our cheeks
melting the snow built up for weeks
somewhere the sun is shining bright
flowers grow in the midday light
while silently we dream and sleep
melting the snow built up for weeks
we'll drink in nature's quenching song
the driving beat guiding us along
walking in tune no need to speak
melting the snow built up for weeks
walk with me on this rainy day
melting the snow built up for weeks
Author's note: I wrote this for the February 12th Open Link Night hosted by Bjorn. He offered us this artwork for inspiration, however, I was late and missed the deadline. Sharing with tonight's Open Link. Thanks for visiting!

Loving the repetition of "melting the snow built up for weeks"....repeat by repeat, drip by drip, sun ray by sun ray....yes.
ReplyDeleteLove the rythm It reads like a song
ReplyDeleteYou captured a walking pace in this poem, Truedessa, and the atmosphere of a rainy day. The direct address is very effective – I felt as if I was there with you.
ReplyDeleteWe walk together into what winter became. A lovely striding invitation here.
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done, Truedessa.
ReplyDeleteWonderful rhythm, rhyme, and perspective, Truedessa!
ReplyDeleteI love it when there's no need to speak. Not a fan of rain, though.
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing fine,
Blue
P.S. Talked with The Cat the other day. Thought Pat had stopped blogging.
Very evocative and the van Gogh goes with it purrfectly. Have a grand one filled with sunshine.
