To Whom it May Concern;
How do I express all that I feel in mere words
It’s been a long time since I last saw you
can magic be captured in nouns and verbs
tell me have any of your dreams come true
Today, spring has brought rain showers
it seems to fit the mood as I think of you
soon bees will drink the nectar of flowers
sadly today I am feeling the soulful blues
Maybe, one day you could drop me a line
poetry woven with pieces of me and you
often in life heartfelt plans don’t align
sometimes new dreams come into view
Thank you for your time

I love the formality of your epistolary letter, Truedessa, and the line ‘can magic be captured in nouns and verbs’.
ReplyDeleteWe all have someone we lost touch with, the very thought of whom, either comes from, or plunges us into "soulful blues" and wonderings - well said Truedessa...
ReplyDeletea wonderful example of an epistolary verse poem - a delight to read and some wonderful lines, not least
ReplyDelete"poetry woven with pieces of me and you"
A melancholy tribute to those now in our past...
ReplyDeleteA poignant poem-letter. I, too, love "poetry woven with pieces of me and you."
ReplyDeleteTruedessa I feel your yearning like a prayer. I hope it comes to pass for you and this person <3

This was moving True…
ReplyDeleteSuch a tender and a tad melancholic write, True! A beautiful epistolary verse.
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast of the form letter title and closing line to the more seeming specific body of the poem. Well done.
