no more digging up broken dreams
skeletons should remain buried
can treasured losses be redeemed
no more digging up broken dreams
scattering new seeds by the stream
painful defeat makes one feel wearied
no more digging up broken dreams
skeletons should remain buried

  5. The repetition works well in your quadrille, Truedessa. I prefer to leave skeletons alone and keep them buried.

  12. This is brilliant. The repetition works on so many levels, True. Like how we want to repeat the same mistake, and also the caution implied by constant repetition, and how redemption awaits those who give up the wearisome diggings. The tone, the rhythm all come together to drive home the poem's truth.

  13. The letting go, not digging, is for me the core of this, steering us away from fixation and endless mulling over.
