Some days I feel the melancholy blues
recalling a journey of two lost souls
some days when I am thinking of you
writing poetic verses fills in the holes
recalling a journey of two lost souls
from beginning to end the story ours
writing poetic verses fills in the holes
sharing dreams in the midnight hours
from beginning to end the story ours
but I admit you will always be the one
sharing dreams in the midnight hours
sadly, you drifted away our story done
but, I admit you will always be the one
some days when I am thinking of you
sadly, you drifted away our story done
some days I feel the melancholy blues

For today's prompt, take the phrase "(blank) But (blank)," replace the
blank with a new word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your
poem, and then, write your poem.
A wistful poem, Trudessa, steeped in melancholy blues, and I agree that ‘writing poetic verses fills in the holes’.
ReplyDeleteVery sad. Not the way to end a story...
ReplyDeleteOh yes....writing poetry fills in the holes. Sometimes I don't ever realize what's on my mind until I see it slowing, haltingly, being written on the page! The good news is, I can edit it!
ReplyDeleteSad But True....a good title for the Melancholy Blues.
Thanks for posting! And do think about stopping by to our LIVE session on Saturday!
Poignant and lovely, a wonderful pantoum.
ReplyDeleteThankful for poetic verses.
