Choking on my own saltwater tears
when I think of all the changes
throughout the years (the years, the years)
Imagine the mystery of fire
how it gave birth to warmth
humans now caught in crossfire
how many more will mourn
Imagine all the dreamers
believing in a world of love
seeking a prophet, a redeemer
is there hope from heaven above
Choking on my own saltwater tears
when I think of all the changes
throughout the years (the years, the years)
Imagine all of nature’s beauty
sacrificed for power and greed
illusions of tomorrow are spooky
who will plant the seeds to feed
Imagine the sea and rolling waves
calling us home to that far away place
the caves and graves of the brave
who will save the human race
