On Wings of a Firebird

Sunrise arrives

   over the mountaintops

     awakening in a new day

Songs from a wooden flute

  float on morning breath

    as darkness slips away

In burst of orange and yellow

  shedding human skin

    transformation begins

A warrior's vision takes form

   arms, grow mighty wings

      feet  sharp  talons

honing in on perception

  dawning of awareness

    dreams take flight

Whispering - Take a leap of Faith

In autumn's warm sunlight

a leaf traveling wherever

the golden  winds blow...

there's a crispness to the air

leaves swirl in a riot of color

orange,  yellow and red

driving southbound

listening to distant songs

blue skies await ahead

suddenly,  I sense company

running my fingers in my hair

plucking him from a loose curl

what message do you bring

green grasshopper, harbinger

of glad tidings, stirring my heart

lifting my spirit for the journey

I see life through different eyes

listening to soft chirping lullabies

soundtracks taken from my life

so, my friend we travel together

may our musings never fall silent

let us dance to our own steps

grasshopper speaks to me

in a language I can understand

thinking forward is the way

where will our quest lead

recalling summer songs

tuning my  inner antenna

detecting energy & clarity

seeing beyond boundaries

into the realm of mystery

new discoveries & adventures

grasshopper clings to my hand

& I to the circle of life

connected in the journey

poetry in my heart flowers

chrysanthemums in bloom

inspiration in a song...

following signs
  following new roads...

Snuggled  in a dream cloud

I softly slumber, floating

into the multi-(verse)

where nouns & verbs

connect in nonsensical

rhymes

caught in the undercurrent

of imaginative poetry

dreaming of knights 

and soaring dragons...

wearing a shield of rosettes 

protecting the inner chambers

of my heart...

moonlight  guides my way

 hidden staircase, mysterious room

  opening the door to consciousness

from the tree of life

taking  small bites

time ticks, ticks, ticks
knowing,  not the hour

of awakening

white owl hoots
  whooo Whooo

cat wearing a nightcap

candlelight flickers

mystical guardian watches

from the shoreline of  reality

or would that be fantasy

I know not which

as the dreamscape changes

floating downstream

to rest in your arms

Falling into Autumn

moon illuminates the heavens

as the drums vibrate to the

fluid frequency of love...

tonight,  I feel pulses of my heart

and in the recesses of my mind

I recall a dream filled with hope..

perfume of sage & sweet grass

circulate the smoky interior

in waning hours of September

falling into the arms of autumn

a black crow flaps overhead

& the spirited  white wolf howls

as the red  super moon arises

in the splendor of each beat

placing  intentions for those

in need of healing & peace

I close my eyes drifting as

a freshly fallen autumn leaf

resting near a great oak

falling into the arms of autumn

revival  in a  morning sun

under a  canopy of brilliant hues

baptizing sprays of light...

drink in a cup of a new day

ease into the silent beauty

sipping the flavors of life

in this day of equilibrium

united in light & darkness

that we might feel change

Shades of Shadows

Craved images of you, flash before my eyes

 flood me like a lone streetlight amongst the darkness

  light flows around me,  through  me, within me

      hungry desire that needs to be satisfied

         dancing in shades of shadows

A lost love found me, in you

   and you were found in me

     in the fluidity of your presence

        in the ecstasy of our love

           we became one being

Beyond the Vista

thundering hooves, black stallion

trail of music from here to there

sun shines high, glistening medallion

soft wispy clouds - tail of the mare...

feathers fall from a wide brim hat

and...I wonder where your heart is at

take me out to the prairie lands

in vast fields the wild bison roam

this place my spirit understands

it is here the cowboy calls home
