Vortexes Hum Phoenix Sings

pic courtesy of Shoes
green valley, tumbleweeds, salmon colored rocks
chiseled masterpieces created by  gods
mysterious  pathways , gatekeepers watch
protecting ancient secrets, appointed jobs

panoramic vista,  traveling dusty trails
giant sandstones , towering  mythical buttes
blowing  soft whisper, haunting tales
within canyon walls dreams take root

before my eyes visions take formation

drifting puffy clouds,  blue dramatic sky
casting  ghostly shadows on the desert floor
spectacular view,  eerie winds heave a sigh
storytellers chant, drums beat,  spirits soar

under a blazing sun the gods walked this land
thunder rattled, powerful warriors danced
leaving  earthly imprints in burnt rust sand
magical moment heaven & earth entranced

natural phenomenon splendor in the sky

 supernatural occurrence new sunrise
breaking horizon clouds form wings
orange rays, fiery tail, teardrops, silent cries
vortexes hum.. majestic phoenix sings

gracing dwellers below rare picturesque sight
ancestors channeling power, blessing the land
overhead the mighty bird takes flight
time stands still, hourglass of sand

  5. Hi there, Trudessa... what beautiful words!

For me, that is the most spiritual place I have ever been... no matter how low or how bad I feel when I arrive, Monument Valley and that whole area really rejuvenates me...

The funeral today was horrible... I have a family member that, after today, I will never have a reason to see again...

Funerals are hard enough without some people making things worse!

    Thank you for this!

  6. Wow sounds like quite the spot
So serene and maybe a bit hot
But through your words you bring it forth
Even send some heat up north

    1. Hi Mary,

I have not been there yet but, one day I will make the journey so
I can hear the hum of the land and perhaps get a glimpse of that
      fire-bird in the sky.
