Heart of the Mountain

personal collection

In the heart of the mountain
beats the hopes of dreamers
ancient ones offer counsel
mystical shamanic teachers

In the heart of the mountain
between birch and pine trees
resides a magical fountain
with owls eyes you will see

all you need do is believe

In the heart of the mountain
receiving messages of healing
nature is alive and bouncing
exploring innermost feelings

In the heart of the mountain
wild spirits roam in the night
primal drums - resounding
dreams come alive at twilight

all you need do is believe

  1. This is pure deliciousness. I love the rhythm of the poem, the way you let us hear the drumming from line to line, the way we get to see if we believe. And believe!

P.S. I would love to read this one as a short story. The details would be extra enthralling... the journey glorious!

  4. The drums beating the hopes of the dreamers, the mountains, the wild spirits and messages of healing - how wonderful. Through your words, i was there. Yes, i believe in it all. I echo Magaly, this would make a wonderful short story, too.

    1. Bjorn, Do you not believe nature can heal your spirit? We must heal ourselves if we are to send positive vibrations outward and cause a ripple effect.

What path would you explore Bjorn?

  8. The words and the rhythm caught me. I'd like to see the owl-eyed fountain...but I'm afraid that mostly what I see around here is clear-cut and concrete.

Believing certainly helps to bring it nearer to seeing it transformed to one's liking. True, missed our early morning presence at Pat's.
