December Snow
Fresh snow
blankets the barren
landscape, creating a path
to unknown wanderings
taking one step at a time
Cardinal
My heart heavy
as the fresh fallen snow
calling card of the season
red cardinal brightens the
mood of the day
Geese
Wild geese enjoying
the day, they worry not
about the chill in the air
basking in the noon sunlight
reflective in the moment
the day, they worry not
about the chill in the air
basking in the noon sunlight
reflective in the moment

Certainly a quiet moment of relaxation in anticipation of the impending harsh cold. Wonderful close True, Ma'am. Happy holidays to you and a Happy New Year!
Thanks Hank, how are you my friend? Happy Holidays to you and yours!
DeleteHow lovely to see a red cardinal. I dont think I ever have. Beautiful writing, True. We have no snow here - no rain either. Endless sun. Not normal rainforest weather. Spectacular sunsets.
ReplyDeleteSherry, it is snowing here today, another foot to arrive. I would enjoy a bit of sun, my friend.
DeleteSo elegant. Winter isn't my favorite season but it does look very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's not one of my favorite season either but, it does offer a different kind of beauty.
DeleteSome nice ones Trudessa. The image of the cardinal against the stark white snow is my favourite
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog

Thank you Gillena! Happy Holidays to you.
DeleteI particularly like that third poem. Geese have a goal and they stick to it, regardless of tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteThere's always a path to be found in the snow, but I love forging my own. Aren't cardinals beautiful? They seem to go with snow like cream to my coffee.
ReplyDeleteI love all three. Happy Holidays.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had a red cardinal to visit us too...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! What would we do without our winter birds?
