Stormy sky becomes less darkle
autumn sunlight sparkles
walking amongst golden trees
palpable tension in the air eases
leaves crunching under her feet
feeling mother earth's heartbeat
there's an aura of magical splendor
into the limbs of nature she surrenders
embracing falls sparkling light

Truedessa I love the darkle-sparkle rhyme. Also like the idea of surrending to nature.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I did have fun with unusual rhyme. Sometimes, all we can do is surrender to nature for healing.
DeleteI love your joyful word play - as satisfying as stepping on a crisp, fallen leaf - Jae
ReplyDeleteThanks Jae, I do love the sound of a crisp fallen leaf.
DeleteYour title hooked me right in! Very visual words. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting...glad I could hook you to read more.
DeleteI love the rhyme in the first couplet. It’s so much fun. Fooling around with how words are constructed is exactly what we need to be doing as poets.
ReplyDeleteAaron, I agree sometimes words play can be fun and poets have the freedom to create their own images and words.
DeleteI enjoyed the wordplay and rhymes in your quadrille, Truedessa, the use of darkness and light, and the sound in the couplet:
ReplyDelete‘leaves crunching under her feet
feeling mother earth's heartbeat’.
