Stormy Night - Haunting Songs

Siren

Aye, her light shines guiding sailors home
shadowy figures, weary pirates roam
out of the darkness, a schooner sails
creaky floorboards,  eerie wails
on a moonless night she's our sun
her glowing kiss, forgives what we've done
riding waves to the siren's haunting song

written for dVerse
writing Quadrille #43
a poem consisting of 44 words
incorporating the word creak

Thank you for your kind visit!

Stormy Sea

La Jument, off the coast of Brittany, photograph by Jean Guichard

I am a light keeper,  beacon of hope
facing adversity when it comes to call
sending messages, helping sailors cope
solitary life, lost souls visit my stone walls

I remember sunny days sailing together
until, storm clouds took you away from me
lost amidst sorrow, cursing turbulent weather
haunting songs drifting grey foaming seas

I am a light keeper, my heart is true
seeking redemption, floating ghosts roam
may your ship always sail under skies of blue
navigating wild waves leading safely home

Mag169 - May 19th, 2013 - Lighthouse

Lighthouse Dandelions by Jamie Wyeth

In a field of dandelions
my  mind wanders in thoughts
I'm lost

magnificent light flickers in the night
my heart flutters,  wings of a moth
I pause

golden house star of guidance
my soul seeks refuge
I sigh

love in abundance growing fonder
a vision before my eyes
I cry

breathtaking view, wondrous life
the path leads me to you
I'm found
