Lose the Umbrella Feel the Rain

Wikimedia After-the-Rains Florence Peel

 rain  quenches thirstiness
 fill  thy  cup

 drink
~
 weeping  willow  moist  tears
 cry   no   more

 peace
~
 beyond  the  waterfall
dreams  take   root

 growth
~
around  the  river  bend
 current   swift

calm
~
dancing  free  in the  rain
spirits  soar

 joy

Suspended in Time

suspended  in  stillness   deep   thoughts  of you
the  only   sound  echoes of my  heart beat
drifting   between  realms a  world   for  two
flickering  memories  swift   rush  of  heat

twilight hovers beyond curtains of  night
during   blue  hour, dreams  fill  an  orange  sky
celestial  heaven bursting gold starlight
to   truly   see  beauty  open  your eyes

branded  with longing  warm  fire  of  desire
come   join  me  under  the  radiant  moon
tonight  let  us dance  upon  the  high   wire
our  bodies  sway   to  their  own   special   tune

whispering secrets  into   waiting  ears
magical  words   that   only  we  can   hear

Written on Birch Skin

I am a  tree with a story to tell
peel my soft layers,  one by one
divulging deep  groves of my soul

I am a spirited tree,  higher  visions
courageously growing new roots
life flows through my budding veins

I am a wild tree, riding river rapids
while ancient ones play sacred songs
my sap a healing balm to those in need

I am a tree harmonizing with nature
intertwined with forest dwellers
chanting praises  to mother earth

I am a tree with warmth in my heart
intentions written on my silken skin
offering gifts to the mighty four winds

I am a  tree who burns when damp
my spirit catches fire full of passion
sparks light the way to transformation

I am a tree with a story to tell

Devouring Doubt..

Chair With the Wings of a Vulture, 1960, Salvador Dali
 conquering  darkness
spoonfuls of enlightenment
candles  light  the  way
 sitting   edgy   chair  of  thought
 renewal  rising  bright  sun

~
darkness
winged  chair  of  thought
devouring life's moments
silver candles burning  with   hope
brightness

author's note: I wanted to explore two forms:
The first is a Tanka 5,7,5, 7, 7 syllable count
The second is a cinquain 2,4,6, 8, 2
